Our school PTA is headed by a small group of friendly, hardworking parents. Each year, they plan and organise many fundraising and social events for the school. This money is used for school equipment and extra-curricular funding. The PTA rely on parental support and input and new members are always welcome - if you have any ideas that would enhance the school life of our children and can spare some time , please contact the school office.

POND AND GARDENING COORDINATOR
Kate Blow is the parent volunteer in charge of the pond, allotment and now new poly tunnel. Kate would welcome any help even on one off occasions. If you would like to offer your time please pass a note with your contact details on to reception. Many Thanks.
2006/2007
This year we have decided to fund raise primarily for the purchase of playground equipment and improvement of the school grounds. This includes the development of the pond for school lessons and the creation of an allotment.
Please Click here for a list of our Sponsors, without whose help we would be a long way off refurbishing the playground.
We have also held fundraising events one of which was The New Years Day Dip where a mad Dad Chris Tompkins took part on the schools behalf. Thank you Chris. Recently 18 children from the school ran 1.5 miles on The Ho for the playground fund. Their efforts take our total to £18,000.
Thank you to all of you who have supported our functions by attending or helping out, without you we would not have made such good progress. If you have any fundraising ideas or would like to make a contribution please contact us via the school gate or office.
ALLOTMENT NEWS We have been awarded £420 from Alan Titchmarsh and his Gardening for Schools charity. This is for deer/rabbit proof fencing. We will be progressing the allotment as soon as school returns with your help. Thanks Alan. Thanks also to The Cornwall Garden Society whose donation enabled us to buy quality tools for the children. STAGE NEWS We have been given a grant of £2,500 from The Batty Charitable Trust to purchase a portable stage and develop a performing arts programme using professional artists.
Our new play equipment has been installed and the children are delighted. Our plans for this year are to complete phase 2 of the playground development. The children would like to create an outdoor shaded area as the playground is very exposed and can get incredibly hot. If we manage to do this we can do musical and drama evenings. They would also like seating areas and landscaping to soften the impact of all the tarmac. To this end as well as our usual fundraising events the children will be applying for funding from Playground Partnerships with the help of staff and parents.
Work on the pond is completed and the children are benefiting from this valuable learning resource.
The allotment under the supervision of parent helper Kate Blow has been very successful in it's first season. The children are really enjoying the lettuces. If we can, we would like to fundraise for a poly tunnel which would put an end to the slugs feasting on produce.
After a very positive meeting we are progressing the wind turbine. If we are successful with our application we will be able to produce nearly all our own electricity needs and may even produce a surplus to sell back to the national grid.
