Hi everyone, just thought I'd wish you all a very happy relaxing holiday! Good luck to yr 6s in their secondary schools. I will be thinking of you next week on holiday while I'm still at work. I started the school year early with you and finish late with Brunel - So I've worked a week more than everyone else! Hope to see you soon.

Hello, everyone!

I hope you are all well?

We are reasonably settled after a stressful summer. The children are happy in their new school, although they miss Fourlanesend, as do I.

Ella spent a lovely last day of term there (thank you to Mrs Selbie and the staff for having her) and both her and Tom are keeping in touch with many of their old mates.

Happy New Year to you all and if you are passing close by our door do call in; it would be lovely to see you.

Love and best wishes from me and the crew.

Just looking around this website it's hard to beleive that in 1954 i also climbed the hill from Millbrook to your school.I've lived in South Australia for the past 38 years so it's nice to remember some of the names like Messres Coon and Easom.I must admit by the look of the photos of the staff they are much better looking than in 1954
Keep up the good work Alan Pugh

Hello
I curently live in London with my Husband and two children of 7 and 18 months. We have visited Kingsand and Cawsand many times and at different times throughout the year both quiet and busy times and love the place. We are very seriously considering relocatiing there at least for a trial year. We dont want to see life down there through rose tinted glasses and so we would love to hear from any parents or young people about what life is really like year round in the area and indeed what school life is like at Fourlanesend School. You could email me direct or I will try looking on the website again for responses.
I also thought the web site was great.

Some of the happiest days of my life were spent in Kingsand & Cawsand, my sister Susie was at Fourlanesend late 50's. I recognise a lot of names on your site, particularly Terry Holland & David Rosson, but so many of these will be grandchildren of my old friends. A lovely site to visit, well done.

I hope you're all having a lovely Easter break and enjoying this fabulous weather. Please don't forget to sort out a few of your old books, videos, dvds, games, puzzles and compute games - NO toys, dolls, jumble - for the Fourlanesend School PTA fundraising stall at the Twinning Association Table Top Sale @ Woodlands, New Road on Easter Monday 17 April 10-12 am.

Take your stuff to whoever lives closest to you: Sarah Riggs, Jackie Robinson, Tracey Morcombe or me. Or if you can't manage that then give one of us a ring or post on here that you need someone to collect stuff from you and I'll be there like a flash!

And come and have a cup of tea and a bun and support us on the day.

Thank you.

We should all have the pleasure of finding a website like this. I remember a lot of the guys in the picture. There I am standing next to Mr Easom, a wonderful man.
The school song then was "Forty Years On", it went as follows, "Forty years on when afar and asunder parted are those who are with us today". It' been 53 years since I was there.

What an absolutely wonderful surprise. Just cruising the internet at 1 a.m. Mountain time in Edmonton Alberta. There I am standing next to that wonderfully patient Mr Easom in 1952. I used to get into lots of trouble then but who didn't. Punishment was the rule of the day for us boys, From the picture I recognize Edward Alpin, Derrick Smith, John Lethbridge, Goerge bus, Peter Arnold, David Elliot, Brian savage, Ken Newcombe, lots of familiar faces but can't remember all the names. Of course I don't remember any of the girls but what 10 year old boy remembers girls. I remember Mr Coon, he regularly had us sing our school song which went " Forty years on when affar and assunder. Parted are those who are with us today." A wonderful web site, there are thousands of us ex-Fourlanesenders out there. Thanks for finding my friends. I went on to Torpoint after the horrible eleven + exam broke us up. The only one I remember from there is Roy Selly who is now my brother in law.

Nice to see our little school has a site!!! Brilliant to see pictures, but wheres the pictures from 1993 onwards?! Please could you display some pictures of us?? Hope the netball team is still going strong as when i left! I had a few good years at fourlanesend, but the best memory has to be when i fell down the stairs walking into the christmas play!! Makes me smile everytime! Those were the days, it's all hard coursework now :( Thanks to all the teachers who helped me in my years at Fourlanesend, without them, i would have for sure failed my sats. I managed to get an 7 in my English sats, and am aiming to become a barrister! Couldn't have done it without all the help from Mrs Summers, Mrs Kerslake, Mr Kays, Mrs Bright and Miss Clarke! Well enough of me babbling on, keep up the good work!! Tanya.

I was at Fourlanesend from 1948 to 1951 when my parents sent me away to boarding school (at the age of 7). I remember Miss Johnson and Mrs Eddy because they ran the whole infants' school between them - there was no talk about class sizes then and we must have numbered at least 60 little horrors!. I only remember Mr Coon (I always thought his name was Coomb) because we has to walk past his office to get to the infants' prefabs at the back. Unfotunatelly, my parents moved from Cawsand to Dartmouth in 1953 and we sort of lost touch with the village. My children have just got me one of these computer things and this is my first attempt to connect with anyone. I still have fond memories of Cawsand and hope one day to return - permanently.

Found your web site easily. It's a great idea.
Easy to follow, and very informative.
Any chance of putting school photos on it, which I could forward on to family (or would that cause a loss of revenue?)
I think you need to check the Autumn Half Term holiday dates. They don't look right to me!
